A Mother's Journey
"My name is Donna Dixon, a happily married wife and mother to 3 beautiful children. I was a working mom and lived the simple life. In 2006 my life was about to change forever, I just did not know how much. My first born son, William Mason better known to us all as Billy, would vanish without a trace in Feb 2006; he was 27. Please allow me to tell you my story of how I searched for 4½ years for Billy. How my life now became a full time job, a quest to find my son, from putting up posters, to creating events, candle vigils, walking through fields, parks, roadways. Through my own pain and heartache I decided to help other families of missing loved ones, how I fought to have a National DNA Data Bank in Canada. My life now became consumed with hopes of finding my son, alive and well, to helping others, but this soon changed and my life was completely shattered in Sept 2010, I found out my son had been murdered. My life then was to never be the same again. I went from having hope, to my world crushing down on me. I went from being happy and living the simple life, to being a grieving mother. I would like to share my story of hope, anger, grief and so much more."
